IPCC is a political body

A recent quiz "

How much do you know about climate change?"

in the Washington Post (LINK) started with this question:

1. What has the scientific community concluded about climate change?

A) The consensus is that it is both real and man-made.
B) Scientists have shown it to be real but aren't sure whether it is man-made.
C) Scientists don't think climate change is real.
D) There is little consensus.

The closest answer to the truth is B) but if you answer B)  the WaPo spurts:

Not quite.
Answer: A The U.N. Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, the leading scientific body on the subject, released a report in 2013 stating that the warming of the climate is “unequivocal” and that it is “extremely likely” that human activity is the “dominant” cause.
Gee! I knew the quiz from Wapo would be warped to the side of the warmist alarmists but to call the U.N. (yes, they say U.N.) IPCC "the leading scientific body on the subject.

Who wrote this quiz for WaPo?

Ryan (from above link)

Ryan Bacic is a digital editor, producer and occasional features writer at The Washington Post. He joined The Post in 2015 as a multiplatform editor in Sports.
Hmmm.... not much science there! What about Aviva? (again from above link)

Well, she has written three other articles for WaPo; two on the WaPo Thanksgiving Parades 0f 2017 and 2019, and a Christmas Tree review in 2018. Bursting with scientific knowledge do you say? Well, evidently, from her own page she is bursting with ideas (

Well, let's go to the NIPCC, a more scientific body than the IPCC: (link)

Though often described by scientists and media as an independent scientific organization, the IPCC is in fact an arm of the United Nations. Dr. Steven J. Allen reminded us of the true nature of the United Nations in a recent article for the Capital Research Center:
“The United Nations [is] a famously corrupt body in which most votes are controlled by kleptocracies and outright dictatorships. Most of the member-states, as they’re called, are rated as either “not free” or “partly free” by Freedom House, and both Communist China and Putinist Russia have veto power. And any settlement of the Global Warming issue by the UN would entail massive transfers of wealth from the citizens of wealthy countries to the politicians and bureaucrats of the poorer countries. Other than that, one supposes, the IPCC is entirely trustworthy on the issue. (Well, aside from the fact that the IPCC’s climate models predicting Global Warming have already failed.)”*
Massive fail by Ryan, Aviva and the Washington Post!!!
