NASA's tricks exposed by ClimateGate emails

President-elect Donald Trump says he will slash NASA's climate change budget:

AND why shouldn't he slash NASA's budget? NASA cheats.

Here is Gavin Schmidt, in a letter to Senator Malcolm Roberts on the 1940s Temperature.
"You appear to hold a number of misconceptions which I am happy to clarify at this time," Dr Schmidt told Senator Roberts in letters and emails obtained by Fairfax Media. "The claim that GISS has 'removed the 1940s warmth' in the Arctic is not correct."  From the Canberra Times

It would be good to remove at least part of the 1940s blip, but we are still left with “why the blip”.

As Tony Heller explains: by 2013, they had done exactly what they wanted to – removed the 1930s-1940s blip

They accomplished this by an impressive 2 degrees (3.6F) of data tampering, lowering 1940 temperatures and increasing present temperatures.
