Another Alarmist Myth Busted - Earth's deep ocean hasn't warmed since 2005

Trenberth according to Cartoons by Josh
During the first few years of the hiatus the alarmists - the climate clowns - tried to ignore the lack of warming. They even became Lack-of-Global Warming deniers.
Trenberth in Climategate1, 2009    The fact is that we can’t account for the lack of warming at the moment and it is a travesty that we can’t.
Dr. Phil Jones – CRU emails – 5th July, 2005The scientific community would come down on me in no uncertain terms if I said the world had cooled from 1998. OK it has but it is only 7 years of data and it isn’t statistically significant….”

Dr. Phil Jones – CRU emails – 7th May, 2009‘Bottom line: the ‘no upward trend’ has to continue for a total of 15 years before we get worried.’
So, Dr Phil, we have passed your 15 years benchmark.......

18 Years and 1 month with no Global Warming.

This fact got the climate clowns creating suspicious scenarios to try to explain the lack of warming; the hiatus.

For Instance:  Trenberth and Fasullo (2013) paper “An Apparent Hiatus in Global Warming?

From Reportingclimatescience.com (bold added)

Leading climate scientist Kevin Trenberth has told reportingclimatescience.com that he believes the pause in global warming may be caused by long term changes in the Pacific Ocean.
Trenberth and colleague John Fasullo argue in a new scientific paper that the massive El Nino Pacific Ocean warming event that occurred in 1997 and 1998 triggered the pause. They say that the El Nino caused a large loss of heat from the deep ocean to the sea surface that resulted in a cooling of the oceans. Since then the deep ocean has been absorbing heat back from the upper ocean and so cooling the atmosphere.

And then NASA stepped in:

NASA discovers that Earth's deep ocean hasn't warmed since 2005 (link)

A new NASA study has found that the cold waters of Earth's ocean abyss "have not warmed measurably" since 2005. The study's findings create a "mystery of why global warming appears to have slowed in recent years," according to a statement from NASA.
A team of scientists at NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena, California, looked at data from satellites as well as direct ocean temperature measurements from 2005 to 2013. The study, published Sunday in the journal Nature Climate Change, found that over those eight years, the Earth's ocean abyss — a.k.a. the Earth's cold waters below 1.24 miles — didn't get significantly warmer. "Deep ocean warming contributed virtually nothing to sea level rise during this period," according to NASA's statement.

No dangerous sea level rise for NSW's South Coast.

In July 2014, Whitehead & Associates Environmental Consultants, in consultation with Coastal Environment and with funding from the NSW Government, produced a report for Eurobodalla Shire Council and Shoalhaven City Council titled “South Coast Regional Sea Level Rise Policy and Planning Framework, Exhibition Draft.”

In part the report (pdf HERE) contains this conclusion (P81)

Sea-level rise has been recognised and planned for in NSW for at least the past 25 years. Over time, the legislation, regulations and guidelines applicable to planning for sea-level rise have become more complex. s733 of the Local Government Act, 1993 aims to provide local councils with exemption from liability relating to coastal planning, providing that a genuine attempt is made (in “good faith”) to comply with a relevant gazetted manual. At the present time, that manual is the New South Wales CZMP guidelines (OEH, 2013c). That manual requires that councils should consider sea-level rise, indicating that councils should adopt projections that are “widely accepted by competent scientific opinion”.
The present Environmental Planning and Assessment Act, 1979 requires that the New South Wales Coastal Policy be taken into account. The Coastal Policy indicates that (i) actions should be taken to prevent problems for future generations; and (ii) a “risk-averse” approach should be taken regarding land use planning for sea-level rise.
Our review of the applicable legislation and a range of legal advice made available to us during the course of this study indicates that, to take advantage of the s733 of the Local Government Act, 1993, local councils cannot ignore future sea-level rise. Underpinning our study and its outcomes is the assumption that both Project Partners wish to genuinely attempt to plan for sea- level rise.

Commentary and Analysis on the

Whitehead & Associates 2014 NSW Sea-Level Report

The conclusion of the following commentary and analysis is that this report
does not provide reliable guidance to the complicated issues of measuring, forecasting, and responding to sea-level rise.

Coastal management must instead rest upon accurate knowledge of local geological,
meteorological and oceanographical conditions, including, amongst other things, changes in
local relative sea level. For the central and southern New South Wales (NSW) coast of Australia, this requires basing management policies on the range of long-term rates of sea-level rise of 0.63-0.94 mm/yr that have been measured at the nearby Sydney (Fort Denison) tidal gauge.

The implied 6.3-9.4 cm of rise in the next hundred years is similar to the rise which occured
during the preceding hundred years. This did not require, nor receive, any policy formulation

over and above the application of historic 20th century coastal planing regulations.

Definitely not settled science

A letter by Robert Munro in the Herald from Everett Washington includes the phrase:

"The climate clowns are out in full-force; their plans for your future are Orwellian."

The letter:

Proponents of global warming have written much about rising tides and temperatures, extreme climate and the untold death and destruction that will ensue should we not stop releasing carbon dioxide into the atmosphere. Further, we've been told that this is settled science; that no further discussion — nor dissent — will be tolerated.

Given that 15,000 years ago, much of North America was under glacial ice thousands of feet thick, they got the warming part right. However, their remaining claims are dubious and better fit the classic definition of fraud: “The intentional perversion of truth in order to induce another to part with something of value or to surrender a legal right.” And far from settled, it stopped being science when they began altering data such that it produced their desired result.
A primary proponent of global warming, Michael Mann, states that: “Proof is for mathematical theorems and alcoholic beverages. It's not for science.” He further believes that proof is not necessary when you have a theory that enough people believe. The corollary to this is: Repeat a lie often enough and people start believing it.
The climate clowns are out in full-force; their plans for your future are Orwellian. It's time to get the facts! Introduce yourself to professor emeritus of geology, Don Easterbrook, Ph.D., Western Washington University, you'll be glad you did.
