- There has been a twenty-year plateau in global warming; and
- Carbon dioxide is not a pollutant.
Twenty-Year Plateau in Global Warming
Roy Spencer, PhD, points out on his UAH blog that
Global Satellites: 2016 not Statistically Warmer than 1998
Strong December Cooling Leads to 2016 Being Statistically Indistinguishable from 1998
The Version 6.0 global average lower tropospheric temperature (LT) anomaly for December 2016 was +0.24 deg. C, down substantially from the November value of
+0.45 deg. C (click for full size version):
Carbon dioxide is not a pollutant
As hard as the Alarmists try to demonise essential-to-life carbon dioxide, they can not escape the fact that CO2 is vital to life on our planet, and at 400ppmv, it is just above starvation level for life on the planet.
Steven Capozzola, writing for Breibart, has a new piece entitled
Carbon Emissions Save People, and Plants
One of the great ironies of the debate over global warming is the notion that carbon dioxide (CO2) is a “pollutant.”
Green activists like to talk of “carbon pollution,” and they lament the callous “carbon footprint” of those who dispute the theory of man-made climate change.
Environmental activists often suggest that adding more CO2 to the atmosphere is “anti-environment.” However, as NASA has reports, the minor increase in atmospheric CO2 concentrations seen over the past 35 years has led to a progressive “greening” of the earth—with increased plant growth and greater agricultural output.Yes, you heard it here, here, here etc CO2 is greening the planet.
CO2, over the last 400,000 years, rose after temperature with ~an 800 year lag. (LINK)
Over the last 8,000 years, the trend lines go in opposite directions.
