Delicious Irony Re CSIRO and Prof Bob Carter

Cartoon by Bob's Friend (and co-author)  John Spooner
Professor Bob Carter often revealed the flaws in  C.S.I.R.O's statements. (Bob called CSIRO - Sigh-Row)

As an example, when talking of the now defunct Flannery-led Climate Commission said:
The game is rather given away by the following style of disclaimer, which is inserted inside the front cover of all climate consultancy reports prepared by CSIRO, one of the groups that acts as a model-provider to the IPCC:

This report relates to climate change scenarios based on computer modelling. Models involve simplifications of the real processes that are not fully understood. Accordingly, no responsibility will be accepted by CSIRO or the QLD government for the accuracy of forecasts or predictions inferred from this report or for any person’s interpretations, deductions, conclusions or actions in reliance on this report. Governments should address Climate Hazards instead of futilely trying to stop Climate Change (an address by Prof Bob Carter)

The delicious irony is, two weeks after Professor Carter's Funeral, the new Chief Executive of the
CSIRO, seemed to be moving in exactly the direction that Bob was advising.

From the ABC:
Chief executive Larry Marshall says the move is aimed at shifting the CSIRO's focus from climate change modelling to climate change adaption. (Link)
From the Australian:
CSIRO chief executive Larry Marshall said yesterday climate change had been well modelled and it was time to start doing something about it.
Many universities have now gone into the climate measurement and modelling area. Some years ago we handed over our climate models to universities and the Bureau of Meteorology. If we were absolutely unique in this area, that would be a different story, but where we can be unique is in figuring out solutions.” (link)
Good work, Professor Bob.

  1. Government grants are the cause of Global Warming

  2. Actually, Government grants are the reason that the AGW hoax continues.
